Christmas this year melted my heart. I mean into mush. Over and over again. I was overflowing with JOY watching my children get LOVED on by ALL of their family members, remembering and telling my girls the true meaning of Christmas, getting excited about presents (even the paper and boxes!), and just smiling and giggling over new toys and great company. We had a fabulous Christmas and feel so blessed.
On Christmas Eve, it SNOWED here in Texas! ALOT. It was beautiful. We headed over to Richey's grandparent's house for Christmas Eve dinner and kid presents and a gift card exchange. It was FUN, but a little scary driving home in the ice! Yikes! Here are a few pics... complete with snow since it snowed on Christmas Eve!

After we made it home safely :) the next morning the girls woke up ready for Jesus' birthday and to see what Santa brought them! They got a new wooden table and chairs that's not pictured below. They love it- it makes them feel all grown up! We had fun as a family opening presents, drinking coffee and eating French Toast (see my last post for recipe!) then heading to the NICU where the girls lived to drop off gift cards for all the families there. It's our new tradition as a family- to pray for and hopefully bless the families that are going through such a hard time- we've been there and know how hard it is. After seeing a couple nurse friends and making our delivery, we heading to Richey's parents house.
Christmas Morning at home:

Our tree (well a smaller one) was on our coffee table this year- to keep little hands off of it. :) It worked out great! The girls here are showing off their new puzzles, backpacks, and toys. As you can tell from the pics, Reese is slow to wake up her head... ha!
Off to the grandparents house to see cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great grandparents...
(If you click on the pic, you can see them bigger)
I love the big pic- of Riley and her Papi. She's so excited- that's how she was allll day! The girls enjoyed all the attention, playing with their 2nd cousins (who are 6 and 7) and showing off too. :)
The next day, my family came in town to celebrate with us. It was a blast! Some pics...
We are so blessed and thankful for God sending his son to die for us that we may have eternal life (John 3:16). He is so good to us! It's always sad to see the holidays end! Don't you think?
Before I end this post... I have a confession: the kitchen the girls received from my parents is still in the box! how horrible are we?! Tomorrow it will be all put together and I KNOW they'll LOVE it.... a week late. :)
