FAVORITE things Friday

Wanted to share some of my FAVS- baby edition! I have found these things incredibly amazing in the life of my preemie girls!

1. Nursing Pillow: I wrote an entire post entitled- "How I Love Thee" on these on the blog How Do You Do It? (for moms of multiples) that I contribute to. :) They are a MUST in my mind. Even if you aren't nursing... I attempted to use them in that way, but as seen on the other post, I have used these to no end!

2. These sweeeet blankies... The girls received their first "pappies" and they're called at our house from my sweet friend Kathy- both white lambs with their names monogrammed on them! The girls fell IN LOVE. We now have a handful and they go everywhere we go and the girls sleep with them. I LOVE them. So soft and so sweet.

3. THESE Straw Cups (fabulous for a beginning straw drinker!) As recommended by our Occupational Therapist, we bought these 'Juice Boxes' on the tupperware aisle. They taught my girls how to use a straw beautifully. If you squeeze the cup a tad, the water, milk, etc. will come up the straw. It's very easy to get liquid out of. They caught on quickly and it was a fabulous transition from their bottles since sippy cups were a bit hard for their balance (mainly Riley).

4. Large exercise ball: Double whammy- exercise for you, fun for your kids! This is another recommendation from the girls' OT when they were little. We'd do exercises with the girls on the ball (have them on their tummy- roll the ball back- so they could practice bearing weight on their feet, roll it forward so they could practice putting their hands forward to catch themselves. AND the most fun part- the girls would sit on it while I bounced them! It would help build their neck control and build their torso muscles and balance. They loved it! (Still love bouncing on it!!)
5. SQUEAKY shoes!!! My mom told me about these amazing, adorable Cherry Squeaks a couple weeks ago. Riley Grace does not enjoy bearing weight on her feet, but I tell ya, these have been a great motivator for her! The heels of the shoes squeak when you walk! She loves them- laughs and laughs. Even when she's sitting she'll bang them on the floor, so they make noise. :) They're FABULOUS (and CUTE). Check them out! And yes, the squeakers DO come out :)

6. Push and Ride: The AMAZING thing about this particular push toy, is that it is SO sturdy and has NO distractions! :) We got another one initially, but the girls were WAY more interested in playing with all the do-dads than sitting on it or pushing it. We borrowed this from our OT (once again- she's amazing! :) ) and it was so great, I got one for the girls. The one we borrowed was her 11 year olds when he was 1 and in amazing shape. SO- sturdy, holds up forever, and fun. It's fabulous!
