Happenings

We've been doing lots of dancing around here lately. The girls sure know how to cut a rug (is that the saying? :) )! I wish I could capture both of them dancing on video, but the camera distracts and stops them- ha! Reese bobs her head (think Night at the Roxbury) and rocks/sways back and forth. Riley- bounces and squeals (she's my "Woo Girl"-- seen that episode of How I Met Your Mother?!) and sometimes throws in the head shake. They crack me up.

Riley finally is growing out of her size 1 shoes :), so we got her some new size 2 big girl shoes... see:

She's pretty proud of them!

Hubby works LATE (gets home about 7 usually and lately 8 because of implementing a new computer system) and so recently I've just been TIRED. Having my babies alllll to myself from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM is not easy. So my sweet hubby came home one day with these just because: (and sushi... key to my heart)

My favorites- stargazer lilies and red roses (the flowers at our wedding!). They were the BIGGEST roses I have ever seen in my life and they were just beautiful!

Last week I saw these at Target and had to buy them- love bright flowers in my house!
aren't they fun?!

A couple weeks ago, Mom and Dad came to visit!  Here are a couple pics-

Reese and Riley got new shirts from Nan and Pop- "Born the Fly" They're from the Wright Brothers National Museum.  Dad got to fly at Kitty Hawk this summer!

On Sunday, my mom's friend from Houston and her daughter (my friend Erin), were visiting her daughter/sister here. We got to see them!  They visited our church AND of course got to see the girls. (Carol got to brag to Nan (my mama) that she saw her granddaughters!). Reese and Riley were BIG showoffs!

Just the other day, I checked my mail and got a package from my friend Cheryl (we taught together a few years ago).  Inside the box were 2 of the most beautiful, adorable, black, white, pink, zebra bows I have EVER seen.  She made them especially for their birthday- to match their birthday outfits and their party theme!  Thank you, sooooo much, Cheryl!  They're PERFECT.
Riley "Cheeeeeese!"

Reese "Hi!  Aren't I cute with my new bow on?!"

Yesterday we headed to meet some friends (Kaci and her son Parks and Rachel and Baby Drew) for a little shopping and lunch.  We browsed through some cute stores and also made a stop at J.Crew.  I've been wanting a headband with a flower on it!  So... we tried some on (and took cell phone pics!) and played in their a bit.  It was fun!  (and I found what I wanted! :) )

Here are all the kids at lunch... my girls would be the ragamuffins with food ALL over them. :) and Reese is waving at me- ha!

Other BIG news... Riley will feed herself now!  Hallelujah.  I'm very proud of her.  She is also drinking out of a straw cup!

We're still working on getting her to hold it-- she CAN, she would just rather someone else hold it. :)  She's rocking a lot on her hands and knees and scoots backwards all the time.  Crawling in the near future?  MAybe.  Maybe not.  We'll see. :)  It'd be great (in my eyes) for her to be crawling by her 1st bday! :)  Reese is now loving her sippy cup, pulling up like a champ, working on figuring out her "push and ride" toy, and is busy busy!  Which means she has a great appetite and sleeps HARD.  She wears herself out (oh, and me too!).  By the way: my days of going potty by myself, are over.  Thank you, Reese.  Thank you.

I love these girls more than words.  I am overwhelmed that they have been MINE for almost a year.  The Lord has blessed us beyond words.  How great is our God!
