17 Months

Riley and Reese are 17 months old!!! Here's what we've been up to the past couple days: these little ladies are into EVERYTHING and keeeeeep me LaUgHiNg and on my toes!

+The playroom is still a work in progress. I ordered a Red
Wagon Shelf and it is SO darn cute! Can't wait to hang it up by the girls little table and put their favorite books in it. It arrived yesterday!

And the girls fell in L-O-V-E with the box! They climbed up and down, up and down. Riley kept saying "BOX!" But in her cute 17 month old talk-- it was 'Bah ppppphhh' (the pppphhh part was her blowing a raspberry-- you know what sound I'm talking about?!) It was hilarious!

This is so fun!

Come on, Riley! come play with me!

Okay, Esse!

Then I took the shelf out. They thought it was fun to play in/on too. Such silly little girls. Who needs toys, anyway?!

They got stuck a couple times...

+Yesterday, Reese was dismissed from her ECI (Early Childhood Intervention) Occupational Therapy services!!! YAY Reesey! She's where she should be in all areas developmentally. WOW. My 30 weeker is where she should be. God is good!
+ Riley is still receiving OT thru ECI- twice a month. She's cognitively where she should be and her fine motor is mostly caught up, but her gross motor is what we're working on. She's close to walking which is great! We'll be working on standing independently and walking with our sweet OT! She's come so far!

Today while changing a Reese diaper (a yucky one), Riley decided that it'd be fun to get the Goldfish box and shake it... while it was upside down. Of course it happened while Reese's diaper was already off (ick!) and our dog was about to pounce on the delicious people food opportunity. So I grabbed my dogs collar and tried to hold her (imagine a very excited dog... acting like a fish out of water) while I changed Reese's diaper. Riley then thought it would be funny to wave her hand in the crackers and make them fly everywhere. Good heavens. Never a dull moment. Stinker! AFter the diaper was closed and Cali (dog) was put in her room, I got Reese and Riley to help me put the "fish in the box." But... they were picking up ONE at a time! And with each one, they'd place it in and say, "box!" (Ri said 'bah-phhh' and Reese said 'baaaah') Good helpers, but we've got to learn what a 'handful' means... pronto.

+ Here's more evidence of their silliness. Complete with Reese (a sleepy Reese) picking her nose and Riley throwing a fit. Notice how easily, Ri turns it off and on!! ha!

sweet girls are getting so big. They seem to be doing great. Don't we serve an amazing God. He gave us both miracles to raise. And they are all progressing well. Praise the Lord! Happy 17 months b-day sweet girlies.

I'm stealing all of your playroom ideas. :-) I might have to pay you to meet me at IKEA and design a playroom for me! hehe

Funny goldfish story. All you can do is laugh!

Gavin has graduated from most of his ECI services, other than speech therapy, which he barely needs. Anyway.....I decided to have Emery evaluated for speech since she's lagging a bit, so they came out and tested her yesterday. Can you believe that one of the things that put her behind is that she still takes a nap!?!?!?!? They expect 2 1/2 year olds to go without a nap? I asked them if they're trying to make parents insane by suggesting that! haha We'll be napping for as long a possible!
