You Know it's Summer in Texas...

You know it's summer in Texas when:

- on a cooler summer day (aka 90s), you take your kids to the park and the playground equipment is too hot to touch let alone sit on and enjoy and you have to leave!

- You take the time to dry your hair straight, use your straightener, and then walk outside and the humidity turns your hair into a wavy curly mess in .7 seconds.

- The second you step foot out of your house, your two year olds exclaim," Hot! Hot!"

I'm SO READY for Fall!

Any others to add??

....you sweat the moment you walk outside...even at 5am.

Yes to the pool water feeling like bath water!!

...you know it's summer in Texas when the weatherman says "cooler temps today - highs in the low 90's!"

...you know it's summer in Texas when you get in your car in the late afternoon, after it's been baking in the sun & you can't even put on your seat belt right away in fear you may burn yourself!

...when your kids and dogs refuse to go outside.

...when you sustain a second degree burn when you accidentally lean against your black car.

...when your (brand new, fully functioning) ac has been set on 70 for the past four days, but it never gets below 76 in the house.

You sweat in places that you didn't know could sweat!

We lived in Corpus for two years and it was so hot and humid, then we moved to Okinawa, Japan and it is even hotter and more humid here. I didn't think that was possible!

Oh my! Yes!

... when the five day forecast doesn't show a high anywhere below 100
... when the mile walk from work to your parking lot requires the reapplication of deodorant
... when scheduling your family's photo shoot revolves around the temperature instead of your kid's energy levels
... when you start shivering at 93 degrees!
... when you say, "Remember that wonderfully cloudy day a few weeks ago?"
