My babies are turning into little girls and it's blowing me away! It's crazy how much they understand and how they try to communicate through their own little language, pointing, smiling (and screaming :( ), and copying us. Reese in particular! As you know, she's always a few steps ahead of her little twin sis, Riley. She's been TALKING! She says, bye bye (and waves), hi, babeeeee (baby), mama, dada, doggy, Na Na (for Nan), Na Na (for Pop too) :), and a few times has said Eeeahh (Aunt Leah), AND my favorite: dank kuu (thank you)! WOW! She's a hoot. She has suddenly fallen head over heels for her Leap Frog (that sings the abc's). She wants him in the car, the nursery at church, with her in the shopping basket, stroller, etc. She'll hold him high in the air and smile and giggle at him-- it's like any second she'll be twirling around holding him up in slow motion- ha! I caught her playing with her little buddy in the car yesterday. :) See...

OH and she's facing forward in the carseat! She's SO BIG. Another of her new favorites = throwing food off her highchair tray to the floor. :( Tips anyone???
Riley can get herself around like a little snake- not really scooting more like slithering back and forth -ha! She's finally bearing weight on her feet which is such an answered prayer! She is so funny- she's saying dada, dah (dog), uh! (more) :), mama (when crying only:)), and giggles non stop! She imitates our mouth when we make words like she's really trying to copy- she's too cute. She's in love with her "pappy"-- her blankets- they go everywhere she does. Oh- and she's working on tooth number 2!! whoo hoo! She's not quite big enough to be turned around in the car, but close! I take them for their one year appointment (belated!) next week, so I'll have to post their stats then. While I was cooking dinner today, the girls were playing in the living room- our kitchen opens to the living room, but I didn't see Riley, so I peeked in to find this... don't they look like they're up to no good?
Let's take a closer look...

I bought a vinyl tablecloth and put it on the floor under the high chairs, so that I could just shake it out outside or wipe it down afterwards. Mine STILL throw food on the floor (and they know better!), so unfortunately I don't have any tricks for stopping them from making a mess!
Oh.....and it helps to have a dog to help with cleanup. haha
I wonder what Riley was thinking when you put them in the car for the first time with Reese facing forward. I remember my sister said her daughter was so excited to be able to see her mom while in the car for the first time.
With the food thing, I was going to say the same thing about the dog. My dogs will clean up the mess, but that doesn't solve your problem. My 18 month old nephew throws food when he doesn't want it anymore. My other 18 month old nephew just throws everything on the floor and laughs. So every kid is different... don't know the solution...
