Friday, 9/4, Reese Abigail and Riley Grace turned ONE! We were actually at my parents house for the long weekend- it was so fun to be with Nan and Pop on the girl's first birthday! That morning when Reese and Riley woke up, Richey and I went in to get them. We sang "Happy Birthday" to them as they stared at us like 'it's waaaaay too early for singing' :) I scooped up Reese and he scooped up Riley to bring them downstairs for breakfast. I was teary as we walked down. How overwhelming it is to look back at all God has done. He blessed us with a healthy pregnancy (after 1 1/2 years of longing for that), he blessed us with not one but TWO GIRLS, he healed them and had his hand on them after their early arrival- they are happy, healthy, ONE year olds. Thank you, Jesus!
We spent the morning shopping and strolling the outlet mall and even ran into an old friend from junior high/high school and her daughter! We ate lunch with them and loved catching up and seeing her beautiful 2 year old. SO fun!
Later that evening we got to celebrate with Nan and Pop. The girls had a cookie cake... I predicted Riley being timid and not too into it and Reese digging in. i was SO wrong! See:
Riley was devouring it. :)
Reese was very careful and unsure. :)
Then they got to open some presents from Nan and Pop... the fell in LOVE with their new wagon!
It was a wonderful day AND the celebrating isn't over yet! This Saturday is the girl's little party, so more to come... :)
Last Saturday while still in Houston, Richey and I left the girls over night and had a date night to celebrate our 7th anniversary! We had SO much fun. We stayed at a very modern hotel by the galleria, went shopping at the galleria, and went to dinner at Ninos- the delicious restaurant we had our rehearsal dinner at 7 years ago! It was precious time with my best friend. We enjoyed our time together- kid free and sleeping in! BUT missed our girls like crazy.
Here's a couple more pics of my sweeties being silly!
Reese LOVES the water. :)
When the girls were eating dinner the other night, Riley put a carrot on her head and thought she was hilarious! (I did too!) :)
