I've seen several people tell their "Love Story" on their blog and I thought- how fun! I want to do that too! Here's the first installment...
Episode 1: "Tears, Snowballs, and Valentines"
In March 2000, my senior year of high school, Richey, my sister, and a few other ACU sophomores came to Houston to stay at my parent's house for the night as they were leaving the following day to fly out to Mexico for a Spring Break Mission Trip. It was that night, I met Richey-- as the group arrived, I was crying over some boy... :) (that's all he remembers about meeting "Leah's little sister" that night). My dad piled the group in the car to drop them off at the airport the next morning and allowed Richey to leave his truck at our house for the week. I remember my parents being a bit embarrassed of the bumper sticker on Richey's bright red truck that sat in their driveway for 7 days. It read, "Save Water. Shower With Friends." Little did we know, that'd be who I'd marry one day!!
That Fall, I went off to ACU. I was in Dr. William's American History class, which was oh so boring (think Ferris Bueller's Teacher...). The first day of class, I walked in searching for my friend from Houston to sit by, and I saw Richey was standing my the door talking to some friends. He said hi and we made the connection that I was Leah's sister and we had met in Houston. He slipped in a comment that I should sit with them in class... with these junior guys... I felt like a dumb freshman... I told him I was sitting with a friend from home and walked off quickly. Little did I know, he thought I was cute and was dying to sit with me. :) As the semester went on, he borrowed my history book numerous times (he said he didn't buy one???) and would always try to get my attention in class. I was a bit annoyed actually. One November day, it SNOWED a TON in Abilene! We trudged our way to class-- 3rd story of a building-- where Richey greeted me with THROWING a snowball at me. I guess the attention secretly... melted my heart... ha! :)
Between then and February, I hung out with Leah and her friends often (which he was a part of) and he and I chatted some, but once Valentine's Day came, he was sure to hand deliver a Valentine to me at my dorm. It was the kid kind that you get in 1st grade-- it was a Sesame Street Card with Ernie on it that said, "Valentine, You're the One." and he signed it Love, Richey. Hmmm... does he like me?? So sweet. :)
Stay tuned for Episode 2: Falling in Love at Billy Bobs!

I love it!!! You forgot the part about all of the catastrophes that happened in Houston when we were there and that Richey made the comment that he would never return to Houston ... little did he know!

Can't wait to hear more. Such a cute love story.
When I decorated my blog I thought of you with all the pink and brown for the twins. I can't remember when I found the digital scrap booking material but I think it was a freebie. If you would like me to send you the file, let me know and I will see if I can get it to you.
Awe....how sweet! I love hearing how people come together and fall in love. Can't wait to read episode 2. :)
