a quick giggle!

Kids just really crack me up! As annoying as my job may be and how busy and stressed it makes me, I sure laugh a lot. So... this week I've been talking about homophones with my 4th graders (you know, those words that sound the same, but are often spelled differently and have different meanings: made and maid, etc...). I asked the kids to think of 2 homophones and write them on two leaves (get it leaves and leaves) and tape them to the tree. I took a picture of their handy work... see below:

What?! Did you notice the leaves covering the TRUNK of the tree?? How funny! I guess I need to back up and teach the kids what a leaf is and where they come from before I ask them to write homophones on them...

P.S. Here is a recent picture of Cali!

such a cute Cali! How are you guys doing? Jon and I were just saying we need to come visit again. We miss you guys. I love your teaching stories. Looks like your time in Abilene was fun, I'm a little biased but Abilene and ACU are like PBJ they can't be separated! :)
