Forever Friends

Last week I went on a cruise with my besties I grew up with.  We had a BLAST.  Seriously-- time with old friends, soaking up the sun, part relaxing-part staying up til 2 in the morning, and laughing until we cried more than once a day... it's good for the soul.  It's refreshing and made my heart burst with joy.  We call each other "Forever Friends."  That's the kind of friend that you don't have to see or talk to every day- it could be months or even a year, but you just pick right back up when you're together and don't skip a beat.  It's real and I'm blessed to have it in Sarah, Jessica, and Anna.

My Forever Friends:

Sarah
Sarah is hilarious.  We became great friends when we were 14.  She has a nickname for everyone and everything.  She tells you how it is- she thinks it, she says it... usually loudly.  We always joke about how whispering is not her strong-suit and it cracks me up. :)  She's an engineer living in sunny LA.  She'll be there for you in a second, is honest, and always up for an adventure (right, Batman?! ha!).  I have the best memories having slumber parties at her house growing up- swimming in her backyard, staying up late and eating candy-- mainly Jelly Belly's.  Ohhhhh I love my Sarah Dawn!

Jessica
J and I met in 2nd grade when I first moved to Houston.  We became close friends in 6th grade when I started going to her church (that's where I met Sarah and Anna too).  We lived close to each other, so we spent many-a-days walking to each others' houses, writing stories and poems together (dorks! haha), singing at the top of our lungs, and making cookies.  :)  Jessica is a talented writer, an encourager, spontaneous and a a free spirit :) -- her spirit declares her love for life.  She's now a professor living in Austin and I'm so proud of my "doctor" friend!  LOVE her!

Anna
Anna and I met on the church bus on the way to a retreat in 6th grade.  I was new at the church and she offered for me to sit by her and she shared her Halloween candy with me... from her pillowcase- it was stuffed full.   Candy= the key to my heart.  We became instant friends.  LOVE her! We spent countless hours laughing, on the hunt for boys ;), having slumber parties, and doing our makeup.  She and her hubby and 2 kids only live 40 minutes from me, so I get to see Anna the most these days.  She's a surgical nurse and has always had the 'nurse' in her.  When I was in the hospital in 8th grade for back surgery, she took care of me every day- forcing me to eat, bringing me things, and making me laugh.  She's the bossy one (in a good way-- she says she just 'recommends' things ;) hee hee)  and thinks she's the funny one (however, Sarah and I both argue that it might very well be one of us- haha. :) They're actually ALL funny- make me laugh SO much!).

I love how each of us are SO different and how each of us have a special relationship with each other individually, but all together it works so perfectly too.  It had been 5 years since we were ALL together and I loved EVERY second of it.  Trip pics coming next!
