The last weekend in June, my PRECIOUS friend, Susan, took me on a getaway from the girls– full of surprises! She warned me that I would be "taken away" and leaving my babies a couple months before the actual trip. She slowly revealed clues to me to tell me where we were going and what we were doing, but left lots of things to be surprises as we went! It was hard to leave Reese and Riley, but I did just fine once all the fun began! All I knew was I was going to San Antonio and we were going to see Wicked! (I gathered these from her clues which were hilarious!) But… really first we stopped off in Marble Falls (her parent's hometown) to meet her mom and sister for pedicures, a delicious dinner, and spent the night at her parent’s house.

aren't our toes beautiful??
The next morning we got ready and packed up to head to San Antonio and her mom and sister came with us! We searched out The Cove for lunch (a hole in the wall seen on Diners, Dives, and Drive Ins on Food Network. When we got there we were cracking up because it’s a laundry mat, a car wash, and a restaurant-ha! When we walked in, I was SO confused… my mom and sister were there to meet us!!!

We all were in San Antonio to go see Wicked (Broadway Musical)!!! I had been dying to see it! We stayed on the Riverwalk, ate yummy food, saw Wicked which was AAAAmazing!!, relaxed and laughed a lot (mostly at me… I’m easy to fool… I didn’t catch on to any of my surprises!). LOVED Wicked and LOVED the weekend (We call it “Wicked Weekend”!).

Carol wasn't very hungry so she ordered a salad... this was all there was to it! it was so funny!
Such a wonderful, relaxing trip!
What a blessing to have such a great friend that would organize and coordinate with my family a surprise weekend getaway for me, to rejuvenate and just have a break from my TWO babies. I’m in love with my job as a mom, but goodness- it’s constant. By the way, Richey survived (and Reese and Riley too!). Tommy (Susan’s hubby) was here to help as well as my bro-in-law and Casen (nephew). I did find out however, Richey left them in their pajamas all day… AND they ate lunch at a sports bar one day??? WHAT?! Oh well. At least it was the sports bar at the Gaylord... livin' large...

So glad you could get away! What sweet family and friends! That cracks me up that Richey left the girls in their pjs and took them to a sports bar. That's why dad's are great, they have such different priorities! How fun!
What a WONDERFUL girlfriend and weekend!! I've wanted to see Wicked for the longest time...I'm going to have to get Alex to take me somewhere to see it...maybe Chicago. :)
You deserved a weekend like this, girl. You work hard taking care of two babies.
And what I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall - watching all of those boys taking care of your baby girls. LOL
((hugs))
what a wickedly wonderful weekend! that is beyond sweet of your friend and family.
You have a baby...in a bar!
(Hopefully you have seen the movie in reference there!)
What a fun weekend!
