Mother's Day Weekend (and more)

As mentioned in the last post, we had a rough weekend as far as Riley's heat rash turned rubbed raw turned oozy turned infected head (aka STAPH-- Y-U-C-K!).  She just couldn't handle the heat-- it all went downhill when she had a high fever the day after she got the helmet... She even shared staph with her sister... isn't THAT sweet?  So both girls are on antibiotics- ointment and oral.   So NO Doc Bands for a while- til we're all cleared up.  It's frustrating on every level.  We were told the way they get past the heat rash, raw part is to keep wearing the helmet- to wear it in and to use hydro cortizone... BOTH made it worse.  Anyway, we're on the mend so that's good.  Here are the girls (BEFORE disaster struck) in their decorated helmets... a few finishing touches are needed, but right now we're in deep clean mode to get rid of bacteria.

(Riley didn't feel good. :( )

Love those eyes!

OH that smile melts my heart!

"I am a princess- my Father is the King of Kings!"

Last week I took a try at these cutie Cupcake Pops from Bakerella's blog.  They're delicious and cute!  I certainly have some practicing to do to get that perfect cupcake shape, but it was so much fun!

For Mother's Day Richey surprised me with tickets to see RENT!!!  He must really love me because he is NOT a fan of musicals... I on the other hand LOVE them.  My friend Susan laughs at me- she says I'm one of the only people in the world that has Broadway music on my IPod!  Surely not!  Do you???  The content of Rent of course is a bit "riskay" But I just love how real it is and the music is incredible.  We were lucky enough to see the original Broadway main characters- they're WONDERFUL.  Everyone was screaming as characters would just step out on the stage, or after hearing one note of a song, and after each song/scene.  I have NEVER been to a musical with such an interactive audience- it was hilarious.  Quite the following that show has!  I LOVED it.  Richey's parents watched the girls for us and then we went back over there and all ate dinner together.  It was a great Mother's Day.  Here is a pic... I edited out Riley's scabby forehead because it is really THAT gross. :)

(poor Riley was WORN out here!)

Last but not least... I am SO proud of my Riley girl.  She's been improving leaps and bounds with her range of motion in her shoulders (almost FULL range now!) so she's been able to lay on her tummy and bear weight on her hands and arms better than ever.  AND  SHE ROLLED OVER YESTERDAY (5/11) FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!!  This is huge for her.  Her muscles in her shoulders and neck were SO tight she wouldn't let you stretch them up/out and would not even try to hold her weight when on her tummy (lots of face plants!).  Without further ado... Riley Grace rolling over:  (** warning: her sister is screaming in the background... I recommend MUTING**)
