Please pray for my Riley girl. She has VERY sensitive skin and developed a heat rash on her forehead and by her ear form the band. It started looking as though it was being rubbed, but also like heat rash as she was perspiring SO much and be came MISERABLE by Saturday. When it was bothering her a little bit Friday and I just started noticing the red and "wet" look, I called Cranial Tech. They told me to try hydrocortizone and to take it off every hour- two and dry her band off and her head, but the best way for her to get used to it is to wear it (kind of like a blister from a shoe!). SO... we did just that. We noticed yesterday that is was getting worse-- it looked totally raw and was oozy kind of-- like a blister does. (YUCK) Of course I was freaking out and paged our pediatrician... they're just so nice. She told me to leave the helmet off (which we had done anyway), not to put anything on it, just clean it, and bring her in frist thing Monday morning (and to call if it got worse before then). SO.... this morning, she's a big scab head- ewww! BUT that means that it's healing which is good. Bless her heart. Oh and did I mention, she has a black eye?! She had been rubbing her eye so much because her head itched but she couldn't get to it because it was under the band. Oh she looks pitiful and of course I feel guilty... that's just mommy-hood, I guess. Pray for healing and relief. I noticed on Reese a tiny place that was raw, so I'm leaving hers off too. We go to pedi and Cranial Tech on Monday. This is quite the process... can life get anymore stressful???? My heart hurts when my babies do. :( I KNOW they'll be okay, and God is ALWAYS reteaching and reteaching me to TRUST him 100%. That's my prayer.

Praying for your sweet girls. That is yucky! Can't wait to see the decorated bands! :)
Praying for you and little Riley and Reese! I know this hasn't been an easy process!
And, you can go ahead and let everyone know how Riley really got her black eye - Casen poked her in the eye! :) I know that the rubbing made it worse, but C started it :) Ha! He's just so in love with his cousies Ri and Re!
Amy, I am so sorry! I was hoping the cranial bands would go smoothly and I can't imagine how it feels when your babies are hurting. Hang in there. Hopefully they will have some recommendations Monday. Happy Mother's Day!
I know the helmets are different, but you know Emmi had to wear a helmet for awhile, right? Her's was because she has no balance reflexes and was in danger of head injury. Anyway, she had trouble with rashes, and they had me put anti-perspirant on her little head!
I hope things are getting easier!!!
