So... yesterday the girls did something they've never done before. They went to A STORE with me! We cheated. We've been "cooped" up for quite a while now (for very good reason- flu and rsv could be very bad for my girls to catch), BUT it's getting closer to the end of the season AND the girls are very healthy (and quite big these days). I've been in the mood to bake-- which is quite challenging with the girls, but still in the mood. I decided to make sugar cookies from
Kelly's Recipe Blog for my friend, Rachel's, upcoming baby shower Saturday that I'm helping hostess. WE (all 3 of us!!!) went to Michael's yesterday to get blue food coloring (the gel kind) and a round cookie cutter. All of my cookie cutters are either holiday specific or girly and Rachel's having a boy! So I will attempt to make these cookies and put baby Drew's initials on them... we'll see how it goes. Can't wait to tell you all about her shower-- I've found some pictures of inspiration and am SO excited with all the decor... more to come on that. It was so funny at the store-- I had the girls in the "limo" (double stroller) and covered up their carriers with blankets-- we don't want germy, stranger hands on my babies. Good thing I did because the 2 check out ladies were practically standing on their heads trying to peek at the girls under the blankets- ha! I was strong and didn't budge- even though I was dying to show off my beautiful miracles. Soon. For now, my 5 minute trip to Michaels making me feel ohhhh so rebellious and pleased. (I'm quite the rule follower, you know :) ).

ohh you were so brave!!! It is almost over and you can get out! :)
Honestly, I don't know how you make it through the whole flu season cooped up. I think it would drive me batty. I have to be going someplace all the time. I always giggle at the tabloids that talk about Britney Spears constantly driving to gas stations (okay, yes I read the tabloids and yes I read about Britney!), because that could practically be me. I have been known to go put gas in my car just to get out and do something!
I can't wait to see the party pics. I love that kind of thing. The planning of the decor, that is!
You are too funny Amy! Can't wait to see the shower pics too. Hope your cookies turn out cute!!!
Can't wait to see the decor and how the cookies turned out! And some new pics of the girls!! Have a great rest of your week!!
You are so funny! LOL I would be going out of my mind, as well. :) I'm a little rebellious myself, so I would have probably encouraged it. HA!
Looking forward to seeing the decor & cookies...I love hosting showers of any kind!
((HUGS))
yay! How exciting for a day trip out of the house! you must be so stir crazy. Yes, the whole "practically standing on their head thing can be so annoying" it floors me how many people used to come up and touch Braydens hands, face, etc any visible skin! Its as if they wear a sign that says, "Please touch"....so good call in keeping them covered!
I am hosting Laura's baby shower in 2 weeks and she is also having a boy! Maybe I should give those cookies a try! How fun! :) I bet you can't wait till you can take the girls out all the time! Do you have plans for your first big outing with them once RSV/Flu season is over?
I am so glad you and the girls got out today! I know it must feel so good! Just noticed that the girls are 6 months and 6 days old! Pretty soon they will be turning 6 and be in Kindergarten! ;-)
Thank you so much for your encouraging comment on my blog. You are the sweetest friend!
You wild woman! We want to join you guys next time you are rebellious!!
