Countdown to Christmas

We have been counting down the days to Christmas at our house!  Every day in December, the girls get to tear off a piece of our paper chain.  On the chain, there is an activity/something special the girls get to do each day.  It's been so fun!

So far we've done:
Day 1: Drink Hot Chocolate with marshmallows!

Day 2: Make Reindeer Food (make, sort, count, eat!)

Day 3: Go to a FANCY Christmas Party (Richey's company Christmas party :) )

Day 4: Sing and dance to Christmas music
(I didn't video the girls on Day 4... this is from the Christmas party.  Riley was hilarious-- they were both totally tearing up the dance floor.  Didn't get that from me!  ha!)

Day 5: Color (By Shape)Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
(From a GREAT free download from Moo Moo's and Tutus: R is for Reindeer Unit... found on Pinterest!)

I've been slacking on pics the past few days!...

Day 6: Wear pajamas and watch The Polar Express
(and we had some popcorn too!  A perfect activity to do with our babysitter while Mommy was at church for our Annual Woman's Christmas Dinner... more on that to come!)

Day 7: Shop for your school book exchange
(Riley picked an Olivia book to bring, Reese picked an Elmo book)

Day 8: Bring gifts to you teachers
(I should have taken pics!  We fixed up a cute package for each teacher- with a Christmas mug/cup, homemade toffee, cookies, a Christmas pad of paper, and Target gift card.  We LOVE the girls teachers!  They do SO MUCH for our kiddos!)

this is the girls at school that day

Day 9: Call someone and sing “Jingle Bells”
The girls "Face-timed" Aunt Leah and Casen and gave their best performance. :)  I'm trying to talk them into a re-do so I can video... no luck so far. :)

Day 10: Open a gift from Mommy and Daddy early!
Tomorrow the girls get to open a present... their very own Nativity Scene they can play with that won't break!  (the Little People Nativity Set)  I think they'll love it!

More Countdown to Christmas Activities coming soon....

I loved the paper chains when I was a kid...we made one every year. Thanks for reminding me of that - I'll have to do that with Amelia next year! The girls are so cute...no doubt they will be SO MUCH FUN on Christmas morning. :)
