SiNgSoNg!!!!

A few weeks ago, we loaded up the car and headed to our Alma Matter- Abilene Christian University (well I went there 2 years then finished at UTA!) for SING SONG. I LOVE ACU. I grew up going to church camp there and have the absolute best memories there. That's even where I met and fell in love with the man of my dreams. ;) We decided it's about time for R and R to start falling in love with ACU (and for us to save our money for tuition- yikes! ha!).

We got there Friday and walked all around campus. SO much has changed in 9 years! Sweeeeet memories! The girls had a blast running around and getting attention from all the college girls telling them how cute they are. :)
Reese and Riley in front of the GATA Fountain (that's for you: Martha, Liz, and Hannah! :) )

They looked so tiny walking around campus! We showed them the bell tower and amphitheater:
Lots of camp memories here and pledging too!

We were sure to show them all the "must sees." Like Echo Point at the Bible Building :)--
Then we walked into the Bible Building... they loved the echo AND standing on the air vents. HA!
A little Marilyn Monroe action... haha!

Love this pic.

This is Jacob's Dream. A GORGEOUS sculpture on campus (that wasn't there when we were). It was incredible!

Friday night we headed to dinner to meet up with some Abilene friends! My Twin Mama friend, Hannah and her hubby and kiddos met us. SO GOOD to see yall, Hannah! Thanks for meeting us. :) Also one of Richey's friends, wife, and daughter came too. Lots of fun!!

My sister Leah, Ben, and Casen and our friend Tiffany joined us on our Abilene adventure. We went to our FAV breakfast spot... both Saturday AND Sunday mornings: La Popular!

Saturday, Feb 19, 2010 was my nephew Liam's due date. Feb 19, 2011 we were all in Abilene together and had a little La Popular 'toast' for him. :)

I gave Leah this precious balloon necklace (thanks, Etsy!) to remember her sweet boy since shortly after his stillbirth (Oct 2009) balloons were released in his memory.

Saturday afternoon we took the kids with us to Sing Song! It was a BLAST. The kids did great.... for most of it. We left a bit early though. Here they are enjoying their freedom after sitting still for so long.

Sing Song may seem CrAzY to some of you, BUT it's a fabulous, fun tradition. :) Here are the videos of the two winning clubs (aka sororities/fraternities) so you can get a feel for it! :)

Unfortunately my club didn't win, BUT the Siggie Piggies were adorable and did GREAT! I dressed R and R in yellow and taught them to yell "Go Siggies!" They thought it was so silly. :) Richey's club won though!

After SingSong we went to dinner to celebrate my sweet man's birthday! He deserves celebrating. I love that man. :)

The girls really enjoyed the hotel! (Or "Fairytale" as Casen kept calling it. And the girls kept calling the elevator the "alligator!" HAHA!) Can you believe it was their first time in a hotel?! Anytime we've traveled, we've stayed with family or friends.

Sunday before we left (and after La Popular- ha!), we went to the Abilene Zoo! It was lots of fun.

We got to feed the giraffes!!!!

And 2 seconds after we left the zoo... they were OUT. :)
SUCH a FUN weekend. I can't wait for Reese and Riley to go to ACU... :)

what a heartwarming entry! How fun it must be to bring your kids back to the place you met, and for them to enjoy it too. We MUST do that sometime soon. And SING SONG! I haven't been back since we graduated, but will always have such fond memories! Thanks for sharing.

I think you should bring them to visit ACU at least twice a year. And when I say ACU I really mean us :) It was great to see you!
