By no mistake this semester in bible study we are studying the book of James: how to react when life gets tough... faithfully facing trials. It's exactly what I need to hear as I've been facing a huge trial for a year and a half. Since I truly have no idea who really reads this and I feel much better after writing things down--I might as well say-- here's that trial: infertility. Few people know I have
PCOS and have desired to have a child for a long time. I've been through many treatments, but none have yet been effective, but God knows the desire of our hearts and I am still moving forward with everything. Instead of asking "Why?" I'm asking, "What now?" Wow... how I have grown closer to the Lord yet felt an indescribable pain and disappointment that no one really understands. I have faith-- I am willing to let God grow my faith in him and I know he hears my prayers and that he answers prayers without hesitation. It hurts, but I KNOW he does not give anyone something they cannot handle and that EVERYTHING happens for a reason. I can't wait to learn what that reason is... to be on the other side of this... for the 1st time in about 2 years I can say I have faith that God will get me on the other side of this-- answering our prayers. HE IS FAITHFUL.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does. James 1:2-8

Hey girl,
Thank you so much for sharing this post, I needed to hear it. I have never been in your situation, but I really admire the way you have handled it and stayed faithful to Him in hard times. You always seem so very joyful and eager to share what the Lord has blessed you with! I will be praying for you and Richie. I believe you will be wonderful parents when the time comes.
Your honesty and faithfulness are a great example of what it means to live like Jesus. I can't imagine how you're feeling. I will be praying for you....it's hard to be patient. God will use you to bless others as you rely on and trust Him.
I too can't wait to see how He answers your prayers because of your faithfulness to Him! I am not in your situation, but these words encourage me in the same way; but different, if that makes sense. I will be praying for ya'll and what lies ahead!
Thank you for your precious words. They mean so much to me. I appreciate you prayers. :)
Precious Amy! You know that you are constantly in my prayers. I know that the Lord has wonderful things in store for you. I look up to you - your life that is filled with service, your strong faith as you look toward the Lord and trust that he will lead you through this "trial", and your kindness toward all that you meet. I love you!!!
Oh, my sweet Amy,
I'm so sorry to hear you are dealing with these trials. But you are right...God is always with you on this and, yes, He does have a reason for everything, even when we cannot understand it.
You have always been such a wonderful friend and Christian role model to me. And I know that God is going to answer your prayers when he finds the perfect little Angel to send you and Richie.
Keep your faith strong, my friend, and know your in my thoughts and prayers.
Love you!
jen
