Every time American Idol comes back on... I'm giddy like a little girl. I don't know if you've watched the first two try out days this week, but one day was in Dallas! I was watching thinking surly I'll know someone... and I did, well kind of in a stalker sort of way. The above picture shows a contestant, Jason, (it didn't show him singing in the show, just showed him in the crowd and at the end with a gold ticket!) that Richey, me, Leah, and Ben randomly met 2 years ago. Here's how it all went down: We were on our way back from Houston and stopped in Madisonville at Sonic. We pulled next to a minivan and noticed the stickers on the back: one was 89.7 Power FM (Dallas Christian Rock station) and one was Anberlin (Christian Rock Band). We just so happened to have Anberlin in the car, so Ben put it in and turned it up hoping the stranger with the dreds and familiar stickers would notice. ha ha :) We started chatting with him-- really nice guy. He was on his way to Dallas because his band was opening for Cheyenne Kimball at some place in Deep Ellum. So... Richey and his friends went to the concert the following day and said hi to him and everything. Shortly after, Cheyenne had her own show on MTV and he appeared on it-- he was dating her! So we saw our "friend" on tv!

THEN this week... we saw him again on American Idol tryouts!!! Anyway-- we haven't really heard him sing, but we're rootin' for our Sonic buddy! Small world thing!
Have a great weekend!!!

A. I love AI auditions. My favorite part.
B. Ha! The guy from Cheyenne's show!! Even better.
C. I think I must go to the wrong place in Madisonville. I never meet anyone famous. Mmmmm, but I do like the jerky in the gas station on the southbound side.
Love it! What a fun/funny memory!
