Saturday Richey and I had a weekend getaway to the big city... I guess when you live in the subu
rbs, going to the city is a getaway... it's somewhat backwards. :) Going through infertility and treatments etc comes with an unexplainable stress and constant emotional roller coaster... something beyond words- that no one could really understand unless they themselves have gone through it. SO, to celebrate my birthday that's this week and valentine's day that's this week, and Richey's b-day that's next week, we went to a fancy dinner an
d fancy hotel to relax! We ate at Fearings at the Ritz downtown Dallas and then stay at the Adolphus downtown Dallas for the night.

Fearings was amazing!! The atmosphere was beautiful-- there were 7 dining areas in the restaurant. We sat in "Dean's Kitchen" where we could see the chefs preparing the food. When you click on Fearings in this post-- it will bring you to the website-- the pic you see first is right where we sat! The waiters were amazing and just totally spoiled us. Dean Fearing himself even came by to say hello and answer any questions about the menu. We got to talk to him twice-- such a nice guy! The appetizer we got was the Mango BBQ Shrimp Taco... AMAZING! (see pic!) Our main dishes-- pheasant and sea bass were delicious as well. So fun! We'll definitely go back... highly recommend it!
The Adolphus Hotel downtown was built in 1912. It is full of character and beautiful architecture. We enjoyed looking around at the old menus, pictures of old Dallas, and letters from old famous people that stayed there. We had champagne and watched a movie-- just enjoying a time away. I'm thankful for this rejuvinating weekend. Now... back to real life in the suburbs. :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!!
